Learning Objective #1

In my earlier works on ENG 110 I don’t think I put as much time into revising my work as I would’ve liked looking back on it now. When revisiting my earlier work I would approach it by skimming through the paper more than anything else. When I would skim through the paper I would look for if there was anything that didn’t look right or had a red underline and fix those and keep problems like that as my focus rather than looking at the paper as a whole. A problem I’ve always struggled with is that on sentence structures, mostly run on sentences so trying to sort those out in my essay usually took up most of the time. Another thing that I would do was try to make sure I had enough of a explanation behind a quote and in doing so I would tend to ramble at times and add more than necessary causing more problems for me to work on rather than fix. Now when I go back to relook at the work I’ve done in my more recent papers the approach I take with me as changed in some ways while keeping on some of the older approaches I had in the start of the year. Now when I sit down to revise my work I look more at the flow of the paragraphs in each body paragraph separately the together as a whole. By doing this is helps me get a better understanding of what fits where and what should be taken out, if anything, or if it could be moved to a different section of the paper. Also by looking at the flow of the essay it also gives you a different look of how your ideas and thoughts mix with one another and if they’re all different but able to be put into the same paper and make sense for readers.
