Learning Objective #2

When it comes to using sources in a paper finding the right one and how to use that source may be challenging when first starting a paper. When looking for a source one should have a sound understanding of what the papers looking for, once you know the meaning behind the paper it’ll help you decide which types of sources you should be looking for. Depending on what kind of essay or paper you want to be writing the way you incorporate your sources into you own work you differ as well as the approaches you take to setting up your source. When adding sources into your work you want to find the ones that will stand out to the readers drawing them into your argument as well as your ideas by using a quote that further supports your claims. For the final paper we wrote in class I looked for quotes that helped back my claims of how peoples’ logical thinking can be blocked or over shadowed by our emotional thinking when it comes to our pets. Other types of quotes I looked for were ones that talked about how lobsters are thought to feel pain or how the way we look at different animals play a role in how we think about them.
