The work that I’ve done that best shows my ability to cite sources using MLA format and making local revisions to address typical errors was my Paper #3 that we did at the end of the semester. I think that work best shows my progress because by that point in the semester I had a better understanding of what was expected of me when it comes to writing a college paper rather what was expected of me writing a high school level paper. I had also gained a better knowledge when to comes to a concept quote vs a example quote and was able to better identify which one I was looking at and where each one was needed in my paper. I was also better at reshaping the flow of the overall paper and trying to trim down on parts that weren’t as important as others and how to replace them with what would work better in the paper. In my 3rd paper I was also able find quotations that fit better with what points I was trying to make in this paper rather than my 1st or 2nd papers. By being able to find strong quotes that back up your claims it makes your paper stronger for its not just your own personal thoughts and ideas but those that are backed by other authors and writers as well.
